Our story didn’t begin with a dramatic meet-cute or a grand plan. It started in 2021 at Park Lanes Bowling Alley in Charlotte, where we went on our first date and never actually bowled. We talked for hours, then decided to eat, drove to Waffle House, and never went inside. We stayed in the parking lot, talking long enough to realize this was something different.

Since then, we’ve built a life together across three states, countless conversations, and a home filled with two dogs and one cat.

Along the way, we’ve learned a lot about partnership, patience, compromise, and the realities of very different dancing styles, some led by hips, while one of us leads entirely with shoulders.
 

Four years later, we found ourselves in Paris. The day before my birthday, Tyler brought me to a historic plaza, one of the first public spaces in the world to be lit by gas lamps, and explained its significance, before asking me to marry him and telling me I have always been the light of his life.
 

We believe a union is about being greater than the sum of its parts, but we are not the only parts of this story. Our friends, family, and favorite people have shaped us, supported us, and helped us get here. You are an essential part of this union, and we can’t wait to celebrate a forever that is finally, officially, and legally recognized, with all of you. We can't wait to see you in Italy and on the dance floor... shoulders and all.
